Balancing machinery rotors
Balancing machinery rotors in their bearings is the best method to eliminate dynamic imbalance and related vibrations. The inevitable installation errors, irregular rotor erosion and deformations due to wear in operation are the sources of rotating force that initiates vibration leading to bearing overload and faster cumulation of fatigue stress in machine components subjected to wear. This poses the risk of premature wear of equipment damage.
Machine balancing in its bearings is technically most appropriate solution, as the rotor is being balanced in real conditions with all rotating parts mounted, such as the complete coupling, keys, pulley or retaining rings.
Balancing in own bearings requires the rotor to be neither disassembled nor transported, and in most cases it can be completed quickly and easily during scheduled machine downtime.
